From Baby Yoda to Voldemort, celebrities don creative costumes this Halloween.

Halloween 2021 was another irregular holiday, much like the year before but with a slightly larger roster of events. Locally trick or treat was shut down uptown but many neighborhoods still participated, just as the Athens block party was technically cancelled yet thousands still flocked to OU to spend the weekend bar hopping in costume.

In terms of costumes there were a few trends. Wanda’s roamed the streets, a character from Marvel’s popular WandaVision show and people donned green jumpsuits with the numbers 067, 218, 456 or 001 as players from the popular Korean Netflix show Squid Game.

Celebrities are always competing to have the best costume of the year. A major player for 2021 is pop idol The Weeknd as the Godfather. His portrayal is so spot on he is almost indistinguishable from the character Marlon Brando played in the film.

Another unbelievable Halloween transformation was rapper Lil Nas X as the villainous Lord Voldemort. This costume is distinctively Lil Nas but still does justice to the character.

Pop singer Lizzo went all out in a Grogu costume, the popular character sometimes known as Baby Yoda from the show The Mandolorian. A humorous but very detailed costume, this rendition of Grogu is definitely one of the most distinct of the year.

These celebrities were the highlights of this year's Halloween costume scene. They highlighted some of the top trends of the year and also had some original takes on classic characters. This was a strange year for Halloween but that did not stop celebrities and costume trends among the general public from having some great success.
